The Lord's Mercenaries (Bio)

This Ministry has been together for 13 years but we've been singing together Perry Jenkins and The Lord's Mercenaries all of our lives in different groups. The members of this ministry are as follows:Perry, Donald and Curtis Jenkins and Harold George. The Jenkins brothers started performing at the ages of 14 (Donald), (Perry) 13 and (Curtis) age 12.

We formed a self contained unit called "The Relations" with Donald on bass, Perry on guitar and Curtis on drums. We performed at all the local clubs and bars in the Philly and New Jersey area. In 1974 we had the opportunity to go Memphis, TN., to record 3 songs at Staxs Records. Then in 1975 we formed a vocal group called "Elegance" consisting of Perry, Curtis and Harold George.

In 1980, that group became "Galaxxy" recording 4 singles and 1 album on the Popart Record Label. In 1998 Perry gave his life to Jesus. By 1999 Perry began writing gospel music for The Lord's Mercenaries. Their first CD, "Keep Strong Faith" was released in 2000. The second CD, "It Ain't Over Til God Say Its Over" was released in 2004. The third CD, "Just Because You're You" was released in 2005.

Their new CD will be released in the summer of 2013 titled "The Best of Perry Jenkins and The Lord's Mercenaries". Perry also has a solo project that will be finished soon. All of these CD projects were recorded at Most High Music Productions. In addition to the new CD we're shooting a new video that should be completed this year.

Testimonials

  • In 2013 Perry was asked if he would sing at my Father-in-law's funeral. He said yes and song at the funeral lifting everyone's spirit within the sound of his heavenly voice. This was a blessing to all of us. He honored my wife's Father in a special way.
